It’s a bird, It’s a plane, it’s…A BOAT! More specifically, a Flying Inflatable Boat, or FIB, and it can literally take your motor yacht’s tender to the “next level.”
The FIB is designed to fly on all water surfaces including the sea, which is the largest runway available in the world. It is relatively easy to learn how to fly, but you do need to take a 10 hour certification course.
Unlike other “flying boats” that use pontoons for flotation, the designers of the FIB chose to use an actual full-size Ridged Inflatable Boat, or RIB, for its safety, and seaworthiness. The “deep V” of the RIB configuration allows it to take off and land, even on the roughest of seas, and the FIB is amphibious as well, meaning she is one of the few upscale toys you can enjoy on land, sea, or air!
With the wing detached, the FIB can serve the same purpose as any yacht tender, and can be used for shore transport, water-skiing and towables, or for any excursions away from your primary boat.
